Poster

We had a meeting about our film show posters this morning and it was drawn to my attention that mine was too flat.

It was suggested that I look at some wood block prints for inspiration not only on the image but on the text. I think this is a really good idea so here are some collated images I think would look good with my design.

Mood board

I have decided to make my human characters in flash, using the collage technique I used for some of my monster art. I want the characters all to have very definite shapes, similar to the monks in The Secret of Kells. I feel that by having a fixed shape they will be more defined, and they will be separated from the monster a bit more. Whereas at the moment they look like they are all in the same world I want them to not see the monster at all. By making their design clear and separate I hope to illustrate this better.  

I intend to have different shapes for each individual corresponding to their personalities. 

Some mood boards

So I'm thinking of doing a mix of flash and hand drawn. I'm thinking the people in flash using photo collage to colour them and my monster in 2D traditional.... I'll give it a test soon.

Style

I really like that the monster is so fluid and more of a shame than anything else. Also that his colour code is pretty much dark blue and darker blue. Might help my design a bit. Gosh, I have too many design styles that I like and they are so polar!
Really need to upload some more designs!

Fallulah - out of it

I was researching monsters and I stumbled on this. The monsters are really creepy and disturbing but also really sweet and likeable. I think I would like my monster to be similar, still scary but with a soft side too.

Its a good song too.
